Hong Hong being the last "Port of departure in China, and being also the head quarters of many of the most important firms engaged in Trade, more time than the present arrangement admits of, is required for the dispatch of business and correspondence requisite foreach Mail.

St might be urged in reply

to this that, the inconvenience &

complained of sould be avoided by the business being commenced

or two earlier, but from

the pecution position of this Port, and the nature of the Trade, this
